Testimony About The Wednesday Healing Class
Dear friends in Jesus Christ-

My wife, Eleni, and I attended The Falls Church Healing Ministry’s Wednesday Evening Healing Prayer Class that ended in April and are so much better for it! We encourage anyone with a passion for prayer, a desire to know more about Jesus’ commission of healing and deliverance and how to become a yielding instrument of the Holy Spirit with your hands literally serving as God’s gloves, to take this opportunity and surrender one Wednesday evening a week to this part of God’s plan for you.

In truth, every Wednesday evening before class, I found myself dragging, exhausted from the workday and wondering how I was going to make it through a teaching DVD (with the lights off) followed by a hands-on prayer session in small group. Every single Wednesday evening after class, I left with a spiritual joy and a spring in my step, reenergized by the fellowship, the gentle presence of the Holy Spirit in our midst, the love for one another, and a new frontier of knowledge about healing having been illuminated. Then, there was the personal inner healing I experienced, not once but nearly every time I participated in the small group hands-on prayer. “What could I possibly want to do more than this,” I thought, at the end of another long day-when just two hours earlier I was asking, “What am I doing committing to yet another evening away on a busy weeknight?” Praise God for giving me perseverance. Those Wednesday’s couldn’t come fast enough!

I recall with fondness how during our first small group prayer session, the Holy Spirit quickly made His presence known, bringing forth words of knowledge from each of us expressed in prayer, rapidly bringing forth a process of inner healing that was breathtaking to behold. The prayer partner receiving that evening was moved by the Holy Spirit to seek out a priest to hear her ‘full life confession,’ (Note: TFC Clergy hear confessions: see Reconciliation of a Penitent BCP p 447) which resulted in an extraordinary testimony of cathartic sanctification through spoken confession and repentance that she later shared with the whole class. This experience knitted us together, giving us the kind of trust in one another that allowed each one of us to open up and receive what the Lord was so generously offering to us week after week. Watching my prayer partners grow and mature in their healing prayers for others was so very special, and we all remain close, praying for one another from a distance in an intercessory way whenever asked or when moved by the Spirit to do so.

During these break-out “practicum” sessions – the highlight of the course for me personally – we had experiences where one who was providing intercessory prayer remarked that she could physically feel the power of the Lord coming through the prayer’s hands. So much that was said in Spirit-led prayer, in fact, seemed to cut right to the heart of whatever was troubling the person who was receiving prayer, and this was repeated again and again, week after week. There was no judgment; just love, support, and lots of healing.

At one point during the course, my wife and I attended a large conference of Christian healing in another city. There I unexpectedly and profoundly experienced a creative miracle, with the missing cartilage in my badly damaged (for 32 years) right knee regrowing supernaturally as the pastor called for this very thing in the name of Jesus Christ and others all around me prayed corporately.

I shared my testimony about that creative miracle (and the subsequent healing of a woman with a serious neck injury who I laid hands on) at our next Wednesday healing class. That sharing resulted in one of our number feeling encouraged enough to ask some others in our class to lay hands on her to pray for healing her scoliosis, which had caused her spine to curve unnaturally and painfully. As our classmates prayed over this young lady, they actually felt her spine straighten under their fingers!!! Praise the Lord!!! What affirmation! What encouragement from Jesus!

There is so much more to tell, but those who are reading this should be getting the idea that this course is not to be missed. For Eleni and me, completion led to formal involvement in the TFC healing prayer ministry, which has been such a blessing to us. We also met many new wonderful brothers and sisters from other churches at the class. The Lord is obviously at work in this ministry, and the joy of watching our new friends spread the good news of Jesus’ healing grace to their own congregations was worth the “price of admission” – many times over, in all truth. Praise be to God! And thanks be to His humble servants who make this class happen.
