Fellows Program
The Falls Church Anglican Fellows Program
The Falls Church Anglican Fellows Program is a Christian leadership development program for recent college graduates who seek to build Christ's kingdom in their future vocations. The program is based at The Falls Church Anglican, a flourishing congregation located just outside the Nation's Capitol. The nine-month program has grown out of an awareness that many young people today desire the spiritual development necessary to become part of the next generation of Christ-centered leaders in the marketplace, in youth ministry, in their families and in their communities. The Falls Church Anglican Fellows Program provides a forum for young people to become firmly rooted in Christ while learning to live cohesive lives of faith in all areas of their lives.ELEMENTS OF THE FALLS CHURCH ANGLICAN FELLOWS PROGRAM
Fellows engage in the life of The Falls Church Anglican where they learn, serve, and are inspired to live an integrated life of faith. The local church provides the physical and spiritual sustenance for the individual and communal Christian life.
Fellows are placed in internships in their field of interest in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area job market.
Fellows are exposed to national and community leaders who are working strategically to be followers of Christ in a wide range of professions.
Each Fellow is matched with an older mentor from the church.
Fellows learn principles of discipleship from the Youth Ministry Staff at weekly meetings. In turn, the Fellows employ these principles while leading small groups of teenagers. Youth Ministry internships at The Falls Church Anglican are also available to several Fellows each year.
Fellows enroll in six hours of biblical/theological coursework on Apologetics and Understanding and Engaging the Culture accredited by Reformed Theological Seminary. These graduate credits are eligible for transfer to other U.S. seminaries. In addition, Fellows participate in several weekend teaching retreats throughout the year, and in early January they attend a week-long "Knowing and Doing" retreat with their professor.
Each Fellow lives with a host family in the community where room and board is provided at no cost to the Fellow. Experience indicates that the families and Fellows often develop close, long-lasting relationships. Other living expenses are offset by the part-time wages the Fellow earns in the work place. Fellows are responsible for their own car and health insurance. Before entering the program, each Fellow is required to raise $6,500 in program support to meet costs related to training courses, retreats and study materials integral to the program. Support contributions to The Fellows Program are tax deductible.
