English for Speakers of Other Languages - An Outreach Ministry to Our Community

Right here in Falls Church, the ESOL Ministry plays a critical role in helping adult immigrants and refugees communicate and understand a new culture. This ministry springs from our Christian concern for the international population living in our area. This population is growing rapidly, creating a real need for conversational English classes in a welcoming environment. Currently, over 30 volunteer ESOL teachers offer lessons in English communication to adult immigrants and refugees while providing fellowship for the "strangers among us." The ministry expresses Christ's love for these neighbors through witnessing as "salt and light," using inspirational curriculum materials, book groups, Bible study and one on one conversation study.
