Thursday Morning Bible Study

Our vision in Women’s Ministry is to inspire passionate followers of Christ by encouraging women to live into God’s truth. We desire to be a community of women who know God and His word. Therefore, we provide weekly opportunities on Thursday mornings from September to May for women to gather for worship, study, small group discussion, prayer and fellowship with others. Childcare is available on Thursday mornings, but you MUST register (see details below). This fall, we will offer the following weekly Bible study opportunities beginning Thursday, September 13, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

Entrusted: A Study of 2 Timothy, by Beth Moore We were never meant to take this journey of faith alone or in secret. God has entrusted us with the great and mighty gift of the gospel, something too precious and life-giving to keep to ourselves. In this DVD-taught Bible study, Beth Moore will encourage you to guard what God has entrusted to you, further His kingdom by sharing Christ with others, and pour into future generations just as Paul once mentored Timothy. Because in this journey of joy and hardship, we need each other to stay the course and live a life of faithfulness. Participants will be placed in small groups for discussion and prayer.

The Lamb of God: Seeing Jesus in Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers & Deuteronomy. Using Nancy Guthrie’s book, this study of how the Old Testament points to Jesus as the Savior. Led by Madelin Barratt and Virginia Watson, this group will have inductive Bible study of portions of the Old Testament and using Guthrie’s book as a reference and guide.  Small group time will include journaling, discussion and prayer.

Joy Starts Here, led by Karen Shields, Betsy Salcup, Anne Doggett and Rose Marie Moran. In this class, you will learn to build joy and shalom through readings and interactive lessons. Joy Starts Here teaches how to interact with God so you can see yourself and others as he does, exploring pathways to biblical joy and strengthening your resilience for dealing with life’s challenges.

(Babes with Babes) In His Image: 10 Ways God Calls Us to Reflect His Character, by Jen Wilkin. Sometimes we ask What is God’s will for my life? When should we really be asking? Who should I be? The Bible has an answer: be like the very image of God. By exploring ten characteristics of who God is—holy, loving, just, good, merciful, gracious, faithful, patient, truthful, and wise—this book helps us understand who God intends for us to be. Through Christ, the perfect reflection of the image of God, we will discover how God’s own attributes impact how we live, leading to freedom and purpose as we follow his will and are conformed to his image.

NOTE: Childcare for Bible study is only available on Thursday mornings. You may register up to three children. You’ll find the space provided for registration when you follow the link below to register. Registrations for the Children’s Program are accepted on a “first registered, first served” basis. We hope not to turn anyone away, but our capacity will be determined by how many children register and at what ages. We will let you know as soon as possible if your children’s registrations have been accepted.

To ALL Thursday morning Bible study registrants: Our Children’s Program is a volunteer-led effort by all the women in the Thursday morning community – everyone registered is expected to serve at least one morning in the Children’s Program. You’ll have an opportunity to pick your day in the registration process. Thank you for contributing to the success of ministering to our children!
