Have you ever wondered how the Old Testament connects to the New Testament? I often hear people say things like “I’m not a fan of the Old Testament” or “I prefer the New Testament.” But the fact is—the New Testament is incomprehensible apart from the Old Testament. The New is the climax, crescendo, and fulfillment of everything promised in the Old. To paraphrase the famous theologian Augustine, the New is concealed in the Old and the Old is revealed in the New.

In Luke 24:27, we read that “beginning with Moses and all the Prophets” Jesus interpreted to his disciples “in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.” Join us for this five-week class as Rev. Dr. John Frederick explores how the Old Testament is fulfilled in Jesus as: the new Adam, the new Ark and Manna, the new Passover lamb, the new Tabernacle, and the new Davidic Messiah. No prior learning or reading is necessary. Come discover how the whole Bible finds its meaning and coherence in Jesus Christ.

1. Jesus as the new Adam (anthropology)

2. Jesus as the new Ark and Manna (typology of sacraments)

3. Jesus as the new Passover Lamb (includes exodus themes of the rock and Moses)

4. Jesus as new Tabernacle (includes all sacrificial typology, e.g., Melchizedek, the High priest, the Mercy Seat, and Issac)

5. Jesus as new Davidic Messiah (includes Jesus as the fulfillment of sonship, Israel, and the Davidic kingly rule)
