Thursday Evening Bible Study

Our vision in Women’s Ministry is to inspire passionate followers of Christ by encouraging women to live into God’s truth. We desire to be a community of women who know God and His word.

Therefore, we provide weekly opportunities on Thursday evenings from September to May for women to gather for worship, study, small group discussion, prayer and fellowship with others.

Beginning on September 13 we will study Genesis: God of Creation, by Jen Wilkin.  The opening lines and chapters of Genesis teach us fundamental truths about God. We watch Him bring light after darkness, order after chaos, and rest after toil—all through the power of His Word.

Over 10 sessions of verse-by-verse study, we will revisit familiar stories and historical figures, challenge our basic knowledge, and discover deeper meanings in the text. As God reveals Himself through Scripture, we can only begin to understand ourselves when we first glimpse the character, attributes, and promises of our Creator.

This year we will offer the Genesis study at 6565 (church office building) as well as at the home of Martha Sotelo in Vienna, Va.  Please indicate on your registration in which location you would like to participate this fall.

Engaging with God in Waiting, led by Abri Nelson. Why do we wait? How does God use our waiting to form us? What role does waiting play in the Christian life? Join Abri Nelson for an in-depth research community group on the role of waiting in spiritual formation, as revealed in the totality of scripture and in Christian writing throughout the centuries. We will develop a set of questions regarding the theme of waiting in scripture and engage those questions with various Bible study methods to look for patterns and draw conclusions.  The group will meet on the second and fourth  Thursday of each month, 7:30-9 p.m. at a home in Arlington, and will include 2-3 hours of personal study between group sessions. Participants will be asked to engage in the topic both personally and corporately. Contact Abri for more information.
