Content: Truth, Beauty, Goodness: An Introduction to the Life & Thought of Jonathan Edwards
Overview: Jonathan Edwards (1703-58) is one of America’s greatest theologians. Combining deep devotion and intellect, he pastored churches in colonial New England and expounded key matters of faith and life for a trans-Atlantic audience. His theocentric vision of creation, redemption, and eschatology led him to see God’s truth, beauty, and goodness all around him, even amid a fallen world. To explore Edwards’ life and thought, we will read selections from this representative collection of his writings: A Jonathan Edwards Reader; edited by John E. Smith, Harry S. Stout, Kenneth P. Minkema; Yale University Press, 2003 paperback edition.
