In 1994, Rwanda experienced a horrific genocide. The transformation that has been happening since is nothing short of miraculous. Come see for yourself as you travel with ARDF and The Falls Church Anglican. Visit longtime Anglican partners and meet some new ones! See what God is doing in the “Land of A Thousand Hills.”
HIGHLIGHTS: Visiting the capital, Kigali, and then traveling north to Musanze.
COST: $2,000 pp (double occupancy). Does not include r/t airfare to Kigali from the U.S., souvenirs, alcohol, and extra excursions. Reserve your place with a $1,000 deposit to ARDF by April 30, 2019. Remaining balance due June 1st, 2019.
PARTICIPANT INFORMATION NEEDED: You will need to provide a copy of your passport as well as other basic background information, including why you feel called to join the trip and how you heard about it.
Friday/Saturday July 26 or 27: Depart US for Kigali. You are responsible for booking your own airfare, arriving in Kigali by late afternoon on Sunday July 28. Don’t worry! We have a travel agent who can help you get the flight that works best for you – and to meet up with fellow team members.
Sunday, July 28 - Kigali: Arrive Kigali and enjoy dinner with the group. Overnight at Step Town Hotel (or similar).
Monday, July 29, Kigali Orientation Day: Take a city tour. Visit Kigali sites, including Genocide Museum.
Tuesday – Wednesday, July 30-31: Kigali and environs Visit Pastor Deo’s Street Kids Ministry Meet with Archbishop Mbanda to hear his vision for the Anglican Church in Rwanda. Meet with Drs. Caleb and Louise King, to learn about their medical missions and other entrepreneurial projects.
Thursday, August 1: Visit Sowers of Hope Agricultural Project
Friday August 2: Visit a local festival with the Sowers of Hope farmers OR visit another partner in the area.
Saturday August 3: Travel to Musanze
Sunday – Tuesday August 4-6: Visit partners in Musanze, including Pastor Agnes, Chaplain of Sonrise School and Community Bible Study International and Sonrise School chaplain. Dinner with John and Harriet Rucyahana to hear their long-term perspective on the history of the Mustard Seed Project and the TFCA/Rwanda partnership.
Wednesday, August 7: Travel day (back to Kigali or onto R&R destination)
Thursday – Friday, August 8-9: Team R&R, debrief, and relaxation
Saturday, August 10: Fly home from Kigali
