Our Christmas Offering this year will be given to two of our partners: Project Belong and ARDF’s Project Malawi.

50% of funds donated will go to Project Belong. Project Belong inspires, recruits, and resources the local church to care for vulnerable children with the love of Christ. The other 50% will be donated to ARDF's upcoming project to build a secondary school for 200 students, providing accessible education and encouraging vulnerable students to continue their studies. These two gifts represent our desire and commitment to proclaim the Gospel at home and abroad.

PROJECT MALAWI

Education brings opportunities, yet in Malawi, access to secondary education (high school) is limited. Only 38% of students in Malawi transition from primary to secondary school - and of those who leave schooling behind, the vast majority are girls. Such girls often get married as young as 15, continuing a cycle of childhood mothers stuck in poverty.

In an effort to bring lasting positive change, Stewart Zimba, a businessman from Malawi now residing in Illinois, donated family land for a school to be built. Yissah Foundation Secondary School will work closely with the Anglican Diocese of Lake Malawi for the construction and operation of a new secondary school. Currently, in their region, students who wish to attend school must walk nine miles to the nearest day school and 16 miles to the only boarding school in the district. This school will be closer to local students, increasing the chance of attendance, especially for girls who otherwise face early marriages.

This is the current site of the project.

THE PROBLEM

In Virginia’s Northern region,

  • There are over 1,300 children and teens in foster care.

  • In the same area, there are over 1,400 churches.

Every day, these children are without a permanent home. And oftentimes, the church isn’t sure how to help.

OUR RESPONSE

Project Belong inspires, recruits, and resources the local church to care for vulnerable children with the love of Christ.
