Comunidad is a local non-profit that facilitates community engagement focusing on literacy, youth mentoring, and adult leadership development. The mission of Comunidad is to engage and equip locally-rooted community leaders.

  • Rising Leaders: A twice-annual leadership activation program that provides middle and high schoolers with opportunities to lead local and impactful community-based initiatives.

  • Equipped: A year-round leadership effort that provides parent-leaders from the community with tools, opportunities, and platforms to create change that directly impacts their families.

  • Monthly Food Distribution: In partnership with the Capital Area Food Bank, assist in providing food to over 325 families each month.

  • Multigenerational Leadership Class: A 10-week class that brings together members of the community of all ages. This leadership class provides practical leadership skills which include identifying leadership strength, improving communication skills, public speaking opportunities, and community organizing.

  • Champions: A mentoring program for middle and high school-aged youth. This relationally driven program focuses on building character and leadership skills among participants.

  • Strong Readers Strong Leaders: Help strengthen literacy and leadership skills in elementary age children.
