In the Word offers weekly in-depth study of the Bible, typically focusing on one Biblical book at a time. Join us for our latest offering beginning December 7 as we examine 1 Corinthians. In it, the great apostle to the Gentiles carefully instructs his friends on principles of contemporary Christian living. The issues addressed are as timely today as when St. Paul penned his Spirit-inspired words around 55 AD - factions, church discipline, disputes among church members, sexuality, marriage, questionable practices, proper public worship, the Lord's Supper, spiritual gifts, true love, and the centrality of the doctrine of resurrection. The believers in first century Corinth struggled with the problem of holy living just as we do today. In this class led by Randall Rhodes, Allen Roberts, and others, we will endeavor to mine the spiritual treasures of Paul's epistle for rich applications to our lives as disciples of Christ.
In this five-week series of public forums, Rev. Dr. John Frederick will engage in live, in-person dialogues with guest presenters from across the Metro-DC region to discuss what Jesus has to say about culture, violence, other religions, speech, and politics. Join us as we learn from Jesus to speak like Jesus.
Learn about the history of Anglicanism — what it has been, what it is, and what it might yet become. For more information about completing your application for this 2-credit graduate course offered by Reformed Theological Seminary on the TFCA campus, contact: admissions.washington@rts.edu.

The most important thing about you is your relationship with God. Deepening your faith in Him during high school years will impact the rest of your life! This is what Confirmation is all about. If you’re a high schooler in grades 9-12, we invite you to join our Confirmation course. In this course you will explore the foundations of Christian faith, wrestle with hard questions, and deepen your relationship with Jesus. Students will meet with a sponsor in small groups to complete the course over 8 sessions.
Baptized students who complete course requirements by May 1 are invited to participate in our Confirmation Service on Sunday May 31, 2026. If we do not have your baptism information already on file in the office, you will be contacted. For students who are not yet baptized, this class will serve as preparation for Baptism.
This four-week course is for elementary-aged children who have expressed an interest in learning more about the next sacramental step for participation in the body of Christ―Holy Communion. Children will receive instruction in the core teachings of the Christian faith through the Apostles’ Creed with a focus on the meaning and practice of Holy Communion for the life of faith.
Have you ever wondered how the Old Testament connects to the New Testament? I often hear people say things like “I’m not a fan of the Old Testament” or “I prefer the New Testament.” But the fact is—the New Testament is incomprehensible apart from the Old Testament. The New is the climax, crescendo, and fulfillment of everything promised in the Old. To paraphrase the famous theologian Augustine, the New is concealed in the Old and the Old is revealed in the New.
“We are not ourselves, by ourselves,” our Rector Sam Ferguson often reminds us. God’s design is for His people to grow in Christ—together. Small groups are one of the primary ways we live this out at TFCA. Small groups nurture deep relationships, spiritual growth, and missional Christian community.
Small group leaders are not merely facilitators of a group—small group leaders also help our clergy to shepherd, disciple, and care for our church. The aim of TFCA small groups is deeply rooted in the pillars of our church: community, discipleship, mission, and worship. Community - We gather in the name of Christ. Discipleship - We grow more like Christ. Mission - We go for Christ. Worship - We glorify Christ.
If you’ve been attending the church for some time now and are ready to explore deeper involvement, we hope you’ll join us in the Ministry Center for this 4-week course beginning Wednesday, February 25.
The following topics will be covered:
The Church: Our New Community
The Faith: Our New Hope
The Anglican Way: Our Ancient Roots
The Christian Life Today: Our Vision and Mission
To support our partnership with the Mason District Station, we are accepting donations for NEW, unwrapped pajamas and slippers (Ages 0-17 ) between December 1st and January 22nd.
